Given the absence of toy soldiers for the Arab-Israeli wars I decided to make my own based on an Airfix 1/32 multipose kit. The uniform is based on Egyptian propaganda videos taken near in Israel Ashdod in 1948. This figure depicts an Egyptian master Sargent in the northern Negev. The hat on the base is a metaphor for an Egyptian officer that cut and ran.
By these propaganda videos are quite interesting as many of the Egyptian vehicles lack insignia and rondals were hand painted not spray painted. The Egyptians soldiers are wearing a variety of British uniforms, but not the full range equipment.
