As part of my research I asked the Smithsonian Libraries to scan the document below. Personally, I think it is the most visually impressive document to come out of the war and is a masterpiece of graphic design. It also has has an amazing amount of detail that often goes overlooked in histories of the air war.

What an absolutely wonderful piece of history. Essential and incredibly interesting. Love the section on the development of the bomber boxes. The illustrations are really well done. Thanks for posting this. I have never seen it but will be coming back to it several times, at least. Great piece of work. -- Al

Thanks for posting this. Most of what I see from the government presses as regards aircraft types are technical manuals. The emergence of a tactical operations manual like this really is quite a treat. Looking through the pages increases my understanding and appreciation of the proceedings rather more than exponentially. Excellent, excellent source material.:cool:
