You are right that these two figures have a Russian retreat look about them. But I have some critique on their appearance:
For eg, in a Russian retreat, why would the porte aigle continue to hang on to his halberd and flag, nevermind his helmet? Mark of rank? But everyone else was fully covered up, muffled etc. I remember that sometime during the retreat, all the colours were burnt. The porte aigle only marked the correct positioning of the formations, which were non-existent during a column march.
The colour bearer has funny looking lower legs, seem a bit shorter.
Anyway, I thought that it would be fun to convert these with Historex parts to create unique figures. I plan to do away with the overcoats.
