Here is another item from my collection that I gathered in the late 50s-early 60s. It is made by Elastolin of Germany and includes a figure of Washington on horseback. If anyone knows the set and has info on it I would be happy to hear from you.

Def. from the 1950's. These are not especially easy to find.

A few years back, I purchased a set of over 40 in excellent condition. The buyer paid a pretty penny and was very happy to have them.

Yours look to be in excellent condition. MAke sure to keep them in a stable low humidty/medium temperature environment and keep away from sunlight.

For some reason, the paint on this series is really prone to cracking and flaking.

Reggie Polaine's Elastolin book notes the Rev. War figures were produced from the 30's in composition to the 60's in plastic. Here are a few more of the composition figures and some plastics for comparison. I've been looking for that Washington on horseback figure! :)
