Hi Folks,

We managed to spend some time with our master sculptor this week and two of the pieces we left with were figures W1 - 1410 and 1411, due for release in May. These are now with our casting team and will then go off to our master painter for him to work his magic. As the figures develop I will ensure I place a posting here for you all to see.

Anyway, here are a few shots of the very raw sculpt. I hope you like what you see.:salute::

Right on target Malcolm - Just the sort of thing I was hoping to see!

The right British Army SD Cap, right size packs, nice looking Lee Enfields - and - realistic firing line poses (prone) for the Mons era. At last!! (Some more prone firing line figures to join them would be very nice.)

Looking at the pictures, could I ask: are they both firing or is one of them operating the bolt on his rifle?

Cheers,
Roy

Nice figures! I can only say that I feel sorry for the poor Krauts that have to attack through the BEF's devastatingly effective musketry.
Cheers,
Brendan

Hi Roy,

many thanks, we do pride ourselves on our quality of research and access to information, kit etc.

One figure is firing, the other is completing the quick re load. Both of these pictures were used as reference files for our sculptor.

Cheers,

malcolm.

Hi Malcolm

Have you thought of doing Captain B L Montgomery with your Royal Warwicks?

Just a thought!

We have been asked to do him in WW2 for our R4A range.

Nice poses by the way.

Bruce

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for the comment and the question.

The short answer is, most likely yes. As you may be aware, the 1st Battalion, The Royal Warwickshire Regiment saw some very tasty action at Meteren in 1914, with Captain Montgomery being seriously wounded. I was in Meteren last year and am returning in April to not only lay a wreath to the fallen at Meteren from the Battalion but to research further for a set of figures.

If I can help in any way with any info for your Montgomery WW2 figure please let me know.

Best regards,

Malcolm.

I wish you good luck with your Tommies!

I will pop over at the show and say hello.

I am painting Heritage WW1 for Maison Militaire at present, but a bit of competition is a good thing! I posted pics of their Tommies, German Jager and Line last year.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks

Bruce

Thanks Bruce.

Competition keeps us all on our toes but, more importantly, gives the collector more of a choice of poses etc when building a diorama / display.

Look forward to meeting you in a few weeks at the LTSS. Hopefully a busy show for all of us.

Best regards,

Malcolm. :salute::
