Does anyone know who might carry or start to carry these figures? I know that TSSD has a few sets but they're not the ones I'm after. Steve Weston carries the boys i want ( Red Army Set 1, Red Army Set 1A and Set 2 White Guards ) but I'll order from him only if I can't find an American dealer. No slight on Steve, he's the best, just too much postage. Any help is appreciated. - James

I'm getting a little nervous about the BREAST FORTRESS set, can't seem to find one?!
The one with the woman running.
Maybe that's why they called it Breast Fortress??

During my wasted youth, I found plenty of those "fortresses" in Toronto! {eek3} In case the General wasn't joking, it's Brest Fortress: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defense_of_Brest_Fortress
And the figures, by the way are by Publius, are 40mm/1:45, and are in zinc alloy, for all the T Rex fans out there.^&cool

This is a more direct link to the Basevich line: http://soldatikov.net/en/1_inzhener-basevich . I love that Military Secrets set with the evil, top-hatted capitalists. Igor Basevich has a long explanation of the set in the listing, with this comment: "It is noteworthy that foreign vendors have abandoned this set, referring to no understanding on the part of collectors and ordinary citizens."

Thanks Mike, I have taken over for you here in Toronto at the Breast Fortress!
Just to make sure we are talking about the same set, there are 6 poses, *one with a woman running, another with a guy with a shovel running, commander with pistol up advancing??
Is that the one? I hope it is, 40mm would have been a huge disappointment let alone the loss of cash!!

From that site, unless there's a Western distributor for Soldatiki Publius. 1400 Rubles is ~C$37. Then there's postage....

I just noticed a Russian seller has 4 from the set you want painted and unpainted, on eBay. Do a search for "tin soldiers hand painted 1941" and it 'll pull them up.

In case there's some confusion: Soldatiki Publius issues individual figures from the plastic sets in metal, unpainted. They're listed on the Soldatikov website.
