Hello all,
a very particular set from the Russian literature.
My Russian friend, Andrey Buslov (who hold the web shop http://www.toysoldiers.spb.ru/toysoldiers/) says:
"Another one new set from Bassevitch is very unique.
This set based on novel of soviet writer A. Gaydar - "Military secret". This is short story for children about brave boy Malchish-Kibalchish, who take command of soviet army during fictional allegoric invasion of evil forces (Capitalists). He was prisoned by enemies by reason of betrayal and take a dead, but not open "soviet Military secret".
Illustration shown enemies as big men with traditional bourgeoisie's attributes - top hat, monocle, white tie...
Therfore figures in this set not have any historical accuracy, but just show evil enemies at all."

Enjoy! {sm4}
Best regards from France :salute::

I've never heard of the story but I kind of dig them! I think it's neat that they based a set on a book. Might be fun to do a cheeky dio with these - something about old-school robber barons.

Here is detailed photo of set :

And some classic illustrations for this novel, which used for making toy soldiers :

Well you could use the 3 kids for a Warsaw Uprising scene but EB sets are pretty expensive just to get 3 useful figures.
