I have niece who is into English Riding are there any companies that make glossy or matte English Riding Figures.

Thanks,
Brian

What scale are you looking for Brian? Do you want metal or plastic?

I know Britains is remaking their classic hollow-cast foxhunt series (due out later this year) There is also a dismounted female rider in the petticoats series.

Breyer makes many different types and scales of horses and accessories.

Schleich also makes some very nice horse models ( TF even has some)

Britains/Ertl makes a few horse riders in plastic and a search on eBay for Britains horses will turn up many items.

I'll also refer you to this originally posted by trooper, I believe that Alan Caton sculpted the horses and he is also a sculptor for your favourite Little Legion :)

Hope that is of some help Brian, anything thing else you need send me a pm :)

I was looking for 54 mm or so, she has Beyer Horses and a ton of other horses, but no glossy figures, her Brother has started to collect TS (Twins 8 years old) and he has them in cabinet and she would like to have something to put in the cabinet also. So, I would like to buy something for her. She has been horseback riding for almost three years. She has taught me the difference between Western and English riding, I did not know there was a difference.

I like this one but maybe not what you are looking for. (this is Queen Victoria presenting the first Victoria Cross).

I think I have it :D

Something like this perhaps. The company is called HM of GB and sadly are no longer in business. HOWEVER, fleurbaix has all the moulds and are starting to make them again. Here is their site (I haven't dealt with them before, so not sure on prices etc...) http://www.fleurbaixtoysoldiers.com.au/index1.html

You can also try here if you are an eBayer......they occasionally have original HM of Gb items.

Should keep you busy for a minute or two. :D :D

Scott,

Yes this what I had in mind.

Thank you for the info.

Brian

There are many differences, and similarities. Of course, the biggest difference is the saddle. Within each, there are many more disciplines, each with their own characterics. For English for example, there are hunters, jumpers, dressage, endurance and eventing.

And of course, the English ride on the left hand side of the road. ;)

THought I would add these here. Was having a rummage about and came accross them, not gloss or metal but great looking figures :D :D :D

I thought you rniece may enjoy looking at them next time she is over and also Tim's daughter who I know is a bit of a horse nut :)

Brian,

Just realised that Fusilier Miniatures produce a couple of figures either as painted sets or as castings.

Imperial made some wonderful figures. I think I have one or two of them in my collection.

Try looking it up on eBay or maybe a dealer has some extra available.
