Perhaps we should all remember that it was K & C who created & pioneered the WW II 1/30 matte genre that has become so popular . CS , HB & Figarti all now reap monetary benifit on a genre that they did not create or cultivate . Would CS even be doing these sets w/o the inroads lay by K &C , or would they still be doing Marilyn Monroe pieces .
Does this mean that Andy should have exclusive right to the genre , of course not . However if it were me , I would feel deserving of some type of entitlement or respect . Also as a collector who has met Andy on several occasions I can tell you that he really does appreciate & respect the collectors business & most importantly input .
I am not a K & C acolyte or disciple , as a matter of fact I will be ordering all the new CS Arnhem sets , but have also just ordered almost 700.00 worth of K & C in the last month .
Point being that competition ( & free market capitalism ) are good . In addition to the fact that more companies & more products gives us a variety in enhancing our collections . Buy what you like & leave it at that
Now all we need is for all this inter company squabbling & competition to lead to PRICE reductions for the collector . Thats what would be really nice .

desert fox,

you are spot on.

i switched from 1/6 to 1/30 lat year because of K&C.

I now mostly purchase HB tanks as i missed out on so many K&C armor, but the HB tanks are to complement the K&C figures. So im very happy that KC will produce again similar items that i missed.:D

Certain issues aside, i respect Andy's achievement and most importantly character. Though i have not meet him, judging from his posts and the other posters in the forum, he seems at the very least, a very decent, level headed chap.

Andy is the pioneer in this hobby, though not immune from valid criticism, we should afford him some respect.

As i came from 1/6 hobby, monopolized by a single Chinese factory, i know despot when i see one (i order straight from China as i use to be a 1/6 dealer, met all kind of people) and Andy seems alright.

i also appreciate Andy's interaction with fellow collectors, collecting their feedback, when he doesnt have to bother with that.

I do hope the rivalry between KC, CS and Figarti goes on hard but legally, and fair. I do not wish to see some companies start suing each other. (In my opinion, HB is rather safe in this matter, as their company is based in Argentina).

Overall, im pleased with the sudden surge in quality and offering of items, and hopefully, the price may start to drop too.:D

Sincerely,

Nasir Kasmani.

Well said Desert Fox, well said. Reminds me of an old saying "The pioneers are the ones who get hit with the most arrows", or something to that effect, but I think the point is well taken.............
