Marengo because of Beef or Veal Marengo dish.

Hi Grognard,

At Marengo, the original recipe was with chicken. Subsequently, it was replaced by the calf.

Sorry, this is not the battle.

Battle of New-Orleans or Chalmette : january 8 1815

General Andrew Jackson defeat the British troops with the 7th infantry regiment, the famous cotton balers, militias and the privat artillery of Jean Lafitte.

A teatcher in history wrote a song about this battle and registered it in 1958, Johnny Horton sang it in 1959.

"In 1814 we took a little trip
Along with Colonel Jackson down the mighty Mississip.
We took a little bacon and we took a little beans
And we caught the bloody British in the town of New Orleans..."
