I was looking for images of the Taiping Rebellion and came across a website with literally 100s of illustrations of the uniforms and armor worn by warriors who fought on the Steppes from Ancient times through World War II. They have been scanned in from numerous sources. It will take awhile for the page to load since there are so many images. Most images are full-size but some are thumbnails that you can click on.

Enjoy!

Glad you like it. It really is incredible. Your scratchbuilt figures in your album are excellent. I especially like the Qing Dynasty official.

Hi Randy,

Thanks for your compliments. Here's a Qing Emperor done in toy soldier style.

That's a great figure, Vic! Did you produce that yourself, or is it a commercially-made figure? If you cast and painted it, or even just painted it, my hat's off to you.

Prost!

A followup....I just saw your post over in the "Taiping Rebellion" thread and answered my own question, you've cast these yourself. Well done! Did you sculpt the figure, too?

Really good work, prosit!

Wow, those sets are fantastic! They would make an impressive display. I recommend everyone take a look at Vic's site and see.

Prost!

Hi Randy and Brad,

Thanks for your very kind words. The Qing figures were sculpted about 15 years back and I did my own castings in silicone rubber. My approach is artistic, all my figures are not one-piece castings, with very limited runs.
I have just set up Golden Chersonese Miniatures. Thanks for your interest.
