It's either funny or offensive. The kindly German neighbor that befriends Chris turns out to be an former SS Concentration camp guard.

Haven't seen this episode. Wonder if it was taken from the movie "Apt Pupil", an adaptation of Stephen King's short story? -- Al

A quick look at the plot of Apt Pupil looks like it's possible.

The "hero" in "German Guy" is old Mr. Hurbert the pedophile who had been in a concentration camp, forced to sort the camp's recycling. There's an old guy fight that rivals that in the climax of "UP."

I haven't seen this episode, but Family Guy always cracks me up. ^&grin They take pot shots at every stereotype, so if you have a sense of humor, and are not one of the politically correct police, it is not offensive.:wink2:

That's the beauty of Family Guy, it pokes fun AT stereotypes. They had an actress with Downs Syndrome playing a Downs character who turned out to be an unpleasant character and not a preachy heroine.

A good one the other night had Brian dating an older woman (hot). The family was trying to find out how old she was and Chris asked her "What were Stage Coaches like?" Great delivery.

BTW Family Guy had a time travel story back to WW II and another quick bit of Peter eating noisy potato chips in the attic with Anne Frank's family.

I agree that they take potshots at a lot of things, but I have a sense of humor, and I think you'll all agree that I'm anything but politically correct, and I haven't enjoyed "Family Guy" for several seasons. MacFarlane has a definite agenda, which he has said in interviews, and it started creeping in more and more, and in my opinion, the quality of the humor slipped as a result. The first 5 seasons were much better than those that followed.

Same thing happened to "The Simpsons", though. They used to pull off topical, political humor much more even-handedly, but then lurched to the left, and the jokes became more one-sided, more obvious and therefore, more predictable.

Prost!
Brad

I LIKE the agenda! One can always watch King Of the Hill.
