Thinking about buying an old release from KC, the Famo Sdkfz 9 Recovery Vehicle. I want to do a repaint and intend to display it without the driver...thing is i don"t know if the driver is cast in with the seat or if he is seperate and glued in place, and is the steering wheel and hand one moulding or seperate?????.....Maybe there is someone on the Forum that has this vehicle in thier collection and can tell me if this is a possible conversion......Thanks

Steve

This does not help I know, but my conversion just sits on the Famo and does not damage it at all. Could not resist showing my favourite Famo book photo. Good luck with your project. Robin.

I repainted this one for Wayne ....

and I think that the driver was fixed into the seat, which I managed to break the glue seal, and the wheel was also separated in that way.

Nice work guys...both conversions/repaints look great!!, and your info john has convinced me that i need to buy the Famo for a future Dio i have in mind. You just got to love these big tractors!!, i had the privilege to ride on one a year ago here in the Netherlands at a WWII german vehicle show...Miltracks in Overloon and not just over concrete, there was a course layed out through the Woods, lots of bends, climbs, and mud dips and man could that thing GO...!!!!.
