I placed an Afrika Korps officer on an acrylic shelf tonight with Elmer's-Tack to hold and stabilize the soldier to the shelf. I bought the tack at Michael's in their craft department. Elmer's-Tack is the consistency of childrens' clay, or putty, and seems to hold sufficiently without forming a permanent or messy bond. The package states that the little tack strips always stay moist. I will report back on the results in a couple of days - has the holding power remained the same, has the compound become crusty, is the acrylic affected, etc?
Somebody recommended another compound as a fastener but I can't recall the name or find the post. If you remember please let me know. Thanks
