I had a question today regarding the link to Alma figures of Wales on the TF Resource pages. It appears they have disappeared and I wonder if anyone knows their fate? They were making 54mm unpainted metal figures from the Crimean war.

According to TS&MF the owners Mike and Sue Easton plan to sell the metal kit series and concentrate on their hobby shop in North Wales.

That is a great figure! Boy I sure have been saying that a lot lately! Could you show me a picture of the bottom of the base? I want to know what their trademark is.:D

Alma Figures were put up for auction at Vectis a few days ago, but remained unsold. The entire collection consisted of the masters, moulds, existing stock and packaging but presumably didn't reach the asking price.

Correction to the above. Alma figures WERE sold, a later edition of the auction results confirm this. Not known to whom or if production will continue at the moment.

I was following it via ebay / vectis, out of curiosity and I believe it went for £8,000. Didn't say who the winning bidder was though.

That's not bad when you consider the total package..........when do you start?

Has anybody heard anything more on the fate or whereabouts of these figures since the Vectis auction back in March? Also, is anybody aware of a source for any of these figures? Am really disappointed I never got around to picking any of these up....used to see them on Ebay once in a while.

Hello Mister Dave,

I had the luck to buy the Alma Figures range from Mike Easton when he sold it. The quality of the casting is exceptional. It can be seen in the painted pictures but it is even more flagrant when you look the castings.

They where first auctionned in March but were offered again in June.
It took me a while to sort all the moulds, castings....
I'm now looking for a casting service and paint services.
Even if want to propose painted soldiers, the castings will still be available.
So Alma Figures is not dead but will come back soon!

If you'd like some more information, please contact me.

Regards,

Michel

Ps: I will post some more pcitures in my albums.

Michel, this is excellent news, and congratulations on purchasing the existing inventory of these superb looking figures. I feel hopeful that we may be able to once again have the opportunity to purchase these kits in the future. I would love to hear more about what you've acquired and what you are working on in terms of future plans for making the range available for sale. As I've previously stated, I just never got around to picking any of these up when available on Ebay, and have regretted it. Feel free to send a PM if you would rather discuss things off line.

Thanks again for the welcome news.

Dave

Any plans to be at the London show in December, Michel?

Thanks again.
