Just cataloging my figures and wanted to share my favorite command set. I know its not a popular line but FL's Renaissance line is one of my favorites.

These figures represent the command of the Holy Roman Empire more specifically that of the Landsknechts during one of the many battles of the period.

Shown here is Georg von Frundsberg General and overall commander of the Landsknechts. Also I've put Aeroart's figure of the Holy Roman Emperor to represent Maximillian, behind them are the personal standards of von Frundsberg (swans) and the standard of the double headed eagle symbol of the Habsburg family and Holy Roman Empire. Also shown is a mounted colonel of the Landsknechts.

At the bottom is my Favorite Lekuchen tin, I had a aunt from Nuremberg who sent us a full one every holiday season, I've had a lifelong love affair with the stuff. Anyway this tin reminded me of the First Legion sculpts.

Some of my favorite figures as well and I have been fascinated with the Landsknechts for many years.
I started collecting Elastolin Landsknechts in the 60's but wanted to paint my own as their costumes were
so varied and colorful. I bought a collection of close to 1000 unpainted Landsknechts and Turks, including
the mounted Knights. I made my own pikes to replace the halberds on most of the figures. The Elastolin
artillery for this period were excellent and some I painted as well.

The First Legion Landsknechts are my favorite series from them. Having many multiples I have repainted
some of their clothing for a more realistic pike formation.

WOW... Would love to see a few photo's, it sounds Fantastic. I had some of Elastolin figures too ^&grin, my only complaint about the FL Landsknects is their pikes are a bit short. Overall I love em, I hope they will continue with the line.

I bought many of the Elastolin castings around the late 80s through a store in London ( maybe Gauge Master?) that by 1995 was gone. I spend many hours painting them. Mainly Landsknetchs, Romans, knights, Vikings and even a German Band. I later got a couple of painted 70mm German bands, I still have displayed. One a fire police band and the other a LW flak band. The casting of the German drum major has always been one of my favorite minuatures.

Thanks Gebhard, I intend to start posting photos in the near future.
I just painted and shipped close to 500 Elastolin Landsknechts to a collector in Munich.
