Just out of curiosity what is everyone's favorite Britains set from any time under any ownership?:p;):):D

Hi Col,

Good set for a WWII item.

This is of course a very difficult question for me to answer because I really have a ton of Britains sets from a lot of eras. My favorite set is my Delhi Durbar Elephant set number 8848 The Imperial Durbar. Followed closely by my hollowcast set number 24 The 9th Queens Lancers. But if I had to pick sets by era I would be likely to pick Butcher Jack from the Charge of the Light Brigade. From the Mutiny my current favorite would have to be the Elephant drawn Artillery battery. From WWI I would pick my Mark I Male Tank. But I would be hard pressed to put any set I have above the Durbar sets especially the elephants.

All the best

Dave

I would agree with this assessment. Delhi Durbar all the way.
By the way does that Indian Mutiny elephant go well with teh Durbar stuff.

Damian

Hi Damian,

I think it would require a different gun in tow but you could certainly make it fit in.

If I had to pick just one (a very difficult choice) , I would have to say that my favorite is still Britains Changing of the Guard (set no. 1555).

I can only speak for the releases of the last couple of years as I don't have knowledge about the great amount of Britains sets from the past.
But for what I know I would pick one of their newer sets as my favorite and that is the 43144 (British Royal Artillery - 6 Pound Gun and 4 Man Crew, 1754-1763. The poses, sculpting and painting is exceptional.

I only collect W.britains WW2 and think one of the best sets is 17147 German waffen SS - MG42. It really set the standard when it came out in 2000 and i believe Ken Olsen and Richard Walker had something to do with this model...
Correct me if i am wrong

Regards

Mine is the original hollow and recast solid Fort Henry Guard Pioneer. I have several of both. Here is a hollow cast one.
