OK guys, I,m on vacation this week with no place to go and got to much time on my hands, but what is your favorite sets.
I have to say the Winter 88 is my all time favorite, however I think the recent BOB U.S. infantry are the best figures Andy has done.
Honorable mention goes to the Germans surrendering and any long coated German he has done.

Favourite Sets

Good post Gary.I fancy the German and Waffen sets for the most part but here goes my list:
1) WS24 Winter 88-its the bomb
2) DD12 Landing craft- mix it with a few others and you got a Saving Private Ryan diorama
3) WS32 SDKFZ 231 Armoured Car
4) FJ01 Schwimwagon Fallschirmjager
5)Long Coats of the Havoc in the HedgeRow series
I'm hoping the new King tiger will slide in one of these slots.Honourable mention would be WS43 Michael Wittman Tiger.Awesome piece for the price!

WS24(W) was one of the all-time greats but some of the modern BBA, Special Forces, DD, WS infantry sets are just amazing.
However, I like the sets that I can match to different iconic photographs/paintings, and not just the obvious ones: IWJ06 and IWJ19 but also those excellent Wehrmacht sets from the 'Blitzkreig' period; also remember RR08 Teddy Roosevelt galloping up San Juan hill with weapon raised just like the Frederic Remington painting. What about the other sets that have an affinity to history? I still love the AN004 artillery and AN08 mortar/PIAT crew: to me they'll always invoke the stories associated with Lance Sergeant Baskeyfield and Major Robert Cain. Read for yourself the summary of their VC citations on the following website: http://www.marketgarden.com/new/frames.html
The old cliched K&C slogan of 'toy soldiers that tell a story' isn't completely removed from reality. Look at some of the Revolutionary War too. I wouldn't be surprised if Andy turns out to be a photography expert and onwer of many paintings/prints - I've often looked at a K&C figure and know that I've seen it somewhere before - and thus my favourites aren't necesssarily those that are sculpted and painted to perfection.

My Favourites are,Afrika corps tanks, then the S.A. followed by the mounted Pferdsoldaten...

I love the early wood Arnhem vehicles most: the wood Para Jeep, the 30 Corps Sherman and the wood Bren Gun carrier. As far as figures go, I go to both extremes: the most recent DD and Waffen SS figures are the best sculpted and painted, but the really early Seaforths, Royal Artillery, Indian Army, Zulus and Afghans are so quaint and toyish I love them too. And the old wood warbirds are exceptional.

I'd have to say my favorite single set, not considering the winter 88 since I don't own one, is the latest released 88 with crew (technically two sets but oh well). The Cavalry sets would be second with the landing craft, third.
On a broader sense, my favorite WWII series and putting ideology aside, is the LAH series. The individual sets just interactively display beautifully.

I struggled with this one.....I'm going to go with the new 105mm Sherman. I just love the look with all the details and with the guy manning the .50 cal standing on the back it just reminds me of the scene in Band of Brothers when the Shermans show up to repel the German attack! I own 6 of them now do to a great deal and could not be happier. It looks great with the new Airbourne sets around it. If I ever get more room I'd love to have all 6 displayed going up against 2 Tigers!

I guess you want to see all six of your Shermans "brew up", because quite frankly even one Tiger would overmatch them. As Belton Cooper aptly noted, Shermans were "deathtraps". However, I certainly agree that the 105 Sherman is one of the finest polystone vehicles Andy ever produced, and I love the guy standing on the back deck firing the ma deuce. Wouldn't it be great if Andy made a Piershing Tank, the one piece of American Armor that could have faced a Tiger, and overmatched a Panther. I know only a handfull saw combat, but I love the black and white footage of the Piershing knocking out the Panther in Frankfurt.

I was kind of shocked to hear Andy say that only 300 of the DD10 Ambulances were made.Rolling wheels would have definately made this set a favourite.Even with that said its a great piece.I guess thats why these don't show up on ebay that often.
That brings up a question in regards to the Landing Craft DD12.Were these made in a limited run also? What determines why a certain piece is made in small numbers?I had heard that the latest 88 was limited to 1000 sets. This could be true since hardly any dealers show stock of it but have plenty of crew sets left.

I for one love the Winter sets, the Afrika Korps and all the motorcycles.

It's nice to see everyones favorites!

Thanks,
Bill sager

It's hard for me to say since I love everything but favorites are the Panther, the recent 88, the Hellcat and the Churchill (incredibly detailed IMHO).
