Could someone please photograph the FIGARTI t34 and K&C T34 (bed springs) together for size comparison?
thanks

Do not have any KnC T34, so I can not put any comparative picture here, but Figarti is a nicer model indeed.

I can't promise anything, but I will try to load photos later this week. I have the K&C with bed springs and both winter . and summer Figarti tanks. I have not put them side by side, but I think the K&C tank may be slightly larger.

I have the Figarti T34-85 and it is 1/30 scale as measured. The K&C version is an old model and may be 1/32 as were most early K&C AFVs. Figarti used to be 1/32 too. Both companies switched to 1/30 around 2006. Figarti anounced the change and marked their boxes accordingly. I believe the K&C Tunisian Tiger was their first 1/30 scale AFV. The tracks and details on the Figarti are superior to the K&C version. You cannot beat Figarti for Russian armor!

I have two Figarti T34 and agree they make excellent Russian armors.

I finally managed to find a little time to snap a few photos of the Figart summer T-34 and the K&C version with bed springs.
I also did some quick measurements - all in millimeters:
K&C
Tank length - 212
Tank widith - 105
Tank height - 82
Gun length from base - 90
Turret width at widest point - 53

Tank length - 205
Tank widith - 100
Tank height - 80
Gun length from base - 110
Turret width at widest point - 50

When you put them together, they actually look very similar in size. The major differences are the gun length, color, and track detail. I am a big fan of both tanks. The K&C version was one of the first tanks I ever bought, and I like the roughness of it. I have it displayed with a lot of Battle of Berlin pieces, including one of the more recent T-34s from K&C. I also have the winter version of the Figarti tank, as well as many other Figarti tanks and planes and trains.

Does anyone know which tank has the correct green color ?

Does anyone know which tank has the correct green color ?

The "Official" color of Russian WWII military vehicles was 'Protective Green 4BO' that was suppose to be a mixture of 40-60% yellow ochre, 15-20% zinc chromate, 10% ultramarine and 10-20% white. This will yield a light green color (as K&C), but most historical sources list the color as a darker green with some olive in it (likes the Figariti). Paint chips from the era tend to support the darker olive green color.

During WWII, there tend to be vastly different shades of the military green due to inconsitencies from the factories. Also, the paint changed color over time either lightening or darkening it.

Therefore, the color of a T34 could ranged from a rich dark olive green (based on WWII paing chips) to a fairly light green with some yellow.

I like BOTH:salute::

Wow! Love the Figarti model with the cool bedspring armor!

Too bad it does not really have a suspension; somehow I can't get over that because to me, that it's a "statue" and not a "model" or "toy".

The one with springs is by King & Country.

:redface2: oh my! I sure got that wrong..

Well, K & C then get my accolades for including bedspring armor on their T-34 statue.

(the "statue" would be quite ok if there were openings in the suspension)

AFV paint color is subject to weathering and sun bleaching which tend to fade darker colors. So both K&C and Figarti could be correct. The Figarti with new paint and the K&C with old faded paint.

Amazing how the "Bed Springs" would help reduce the effects of the Lethal "PanzerFausts"

Bed springs=Russian Schurtzen. Good against shaped charges; not much help against kinetic projectiles!

Great pictures! Thanks for posting

Interesting.. Thanks! I'm glad my thread is getting a lot of feedback

I have the Figarti T-34 but not the K/C with bedsprings....If I did... I would simply weather the K/C model with chalks in order to tone down the brightness of the paint.....Both are very nice models and they seem to be compatible in scale which is a most important factor IMO.
