Hi Guys,

Most large South Vietnamese towns and cities had a 'Chinatown' of various sizes... Here our Marines battle their way through one of them during the TET Offensive.

Best wishes and happy collecting,
Andy

Wow, Andy ... you guys are working ... OVERTIME ... turning out these fantastic dios for many series.
This one gives a whole different use for the Streets of HK items.

As I mentioned in a different thread .. there is always so much to learn from studying how you design, build and display the dioramas.
Simply SUPER!

Looks great! Thanks for sharing. I bet it would look even better as a scene from the Battle of Hong Kong with K&C's Canadian and Japanese troops.

Hi Andy.

I see the back of the Mule driver's Flak jacket has this graffiti on it.

Will you be adding Helmet art too to some of the Marines ?
Like to see other Flak Jacket slogans too.

Hi Steve,
Re: 'Vietnam Graffitti and Slogans'...So far, we've only put it on 2x Marines (The 'Mule'Driver and another Grunt not shown yet). Our intention is that collectors can add their own...There are so many to choose from OR they can leave them 'unadorned' as they wish.
If you do decide to add some of your own I suggest using a black 'fine line' felt tip pen to do the work. It's not difficult. The choice is up to you.
All the best and happy collecting!
Andy.

Hi Andy

When you see pictures American troops in Vietnam, there's hardly any unadorned helmets and / or flak jackets, so to me it all adds a bit more gritty realism to the figures and will no doubt be adding some.
Thanks for the tip on felt tips.

I think it was reading the Michael Herr book despatches years ago a few of flak jacket comments examples were in it, one proclaimed himself The Entertainer, as he put it, he rocked and rolled between full and semi automatic !
Another with Yea though I walk through the shadow of death etc and a last example I seem to remember was something about Khe Sahn may be hazardous to your health !
So though I'm all for the graffiti on helmets and flak, I can also see that a lot of collectors would find that sort of thing distracting and not want it, but for those who do, will mostly have a blank canvas to work on !

Since i believe that copying pictures poses doesn't represent plagiary and the following poses are all taken from existing Hue battle stills and pictures may i post them here for suggestion? The brand is a famous resin 1/35 producer.

They all look like great action poses and I see this brand do quite a few others in equally good action and resting poses, which I'd be happy to buy if K&C were to produce their own version of.

I think Andy will take notice (but i believe that for the moment he already did very well!!!)...

Please notice the Marine officer with M3 grease gun with long fire suppressor...it was a common view in Hue..:)

Wonder if we'll get to see one of these ?

I cannot find the relevant post but think Andy recently said something about sculpts being done in Russia. And Bravo6 appear to be Russia based so I would assume their sculptor to be also, who I would think is doing these for K&C with alterations to scale and uniforms and weapons to fit in with time frame as needed.
Anyway, I'm just glad we are able to add this action filled dramatic posed figures to our collections with what's been released and what's in the works.

Steve

That is much more than some similarities {sm4}{sm4}{sm4}

But as i said the poses are taken from pictures..Andy doesn't deny this (the last instance is about Sgt. Stryker figure and that was a movie picture so maybe the copyright is more rigid) and after all every brand does this , you can for example look at my posts about FL "Platoon" figures ... I must find the marine firing his gun over the head picture..i believe it's more a video still than a picture , but it was a common view...
