A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away I had an interchange with the co-owner of a then up-and-coming toy soldier company. I had recommended a battle in Eastern Europe as his first medieval range, he chose Acre 1291. And he was right. His figures were great and sold out.

Nevertheless. Figurine Emporium covers this toy solder gap in the history of the crusades in the East which lasted from 1192 to 1525. I hope you enjoy these formations as much as I do. I took these photos at the MFCA 2013 in Valley Forge.

And: Anybody else reminded of the visuals Waffen SS several centuries later?

Is Aleksey still selling figures? I haven't seen him in years, since the last time I was at the OTSN. I collected a lot of his Napoleonic line before he went into the crusader period. I have one Russian knight combating a crusader which was the last purchase I made from him at the OTSN. I believe he was scaling out of Napoleonics at that time when First Legion arrived on the scene...

I know he was doing well with the crusader range back then!

Nice looking lot...!!! :)

Yes, he does. I saw him at the Valley Forge show this year. He told me he decided to not do internet sales any more, so I assume his website is down. He had a great collection for sale again.

My purchase from that table, one of the simpler models - a Teutonic Knight in the early phases of the Eastern Crusades, when the Teutonic Order still felt on top of the World:

I got two of his pieces when I met him at the show in Waltham, Mass. Other than at shows, how do we go about buying these?
