And it really was quite the experience. The Horse puppet is a terrific representation and brilliantly moved around the stage during the production. It is a of course a dark, grim story and it very much got across the true pity of WW1 for man and beast alike. My wife found it quite hard going especially the scene in which Joey is caught on barbed wire . Can't say it's something I'd want to see again as of course by it's nature it was pretty depressing and I've no interest in seeing the film version, but it was really worth seeing, especially in this centenary year.

Hi Rob,

I saw the film version and it was gritty to say the least. The wire scene for me was painful to watch. But it was a great film that illuminated a part of that terrible war that nearly everyone had no idea about. Where was the Theater you saw it located?

Hi Dave,

It was a live performance from the National theater in London beamed to our local cinema. The wire scene was also for me the bit I liked least, of course it happened and obviously thousands of Horses died serving us, but it's too sad to think how they served us with such loyalty and love for their riders and died horrible deaths for us. Just too sad mate.

Indeed! Rob one of the terrible aspects of that war most folks simply don't know about

Sounds like a fun way to see the show.
