Finished AFV: Sal-Models (1 Viewer)

Their products do look interesting, including a nice Mk V Spitfire but a bit pricey for a 1/72 with no moving parts IMO. They are definitely a foreign company with a rather poor translation program as judged from this Spitfire (or should I say Torches:eek:) history text:
In the custom does not divide " Torches " With " The sea torches " The general designation is " Torches " Type airplane. Not only this machine in the technical performance in two world wars is first-class, moreover is also situated the world leader in quantity. A synonym machine henceforth then withdraws from the war historical arena, becomes the strength natural science herdsman's exhibit
A natural science herdsman's exhibit?

Those are some spectacular looking models. Their translations are the best part though. The F4F Straycat and the F2A Waterbuffalo -- priceless:D

I think that "SAL Models" might be a site run by a fellow who is a member of FineScaleModeler's forum, and who posts pictures of models that he has people build for him. If it's not the same guy, it looks like it's someone who does something similar.

I went to the main site, www.sal-models.com, and looked at the catalog, and the listings are for models by the major manufacturers, like Hasegawa, Academy, Trumpeter (although the the F-105 Thunderchief in 1/72 is listed as "Producer: Thunderchief").

I do not think that these are the same kind of models that you guys are thinking of, completed diecast models, or in the case of aircraft, carved solid wood desk models. These look like scale model kits off the shelf, assembled by anonymous people in Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, etc, and sold through SAL models.

Personally, I wouldn't spend my money on them, I'd buy the kits and build them myself.

Of course, if anyone knows different about them, I am open to correction.

Prost!

Yes these do look great. I see they will make custom stuff apon request.

I'd like to have them do the Strumtiger, I use in my signature. I asked Ana at HB if they could for me but we all know, not. I know this version was never made but it looks cool. I'm thinking about a field shop dio were their doing it as a one off.
