While I realize that it's of course our historical toy soldiers that folks here enjoy, just wanted to share with you all that our 28mm Fantasy Figures Kickstarter has officially launched. It's all extremely high quality and superlatively sculpted resin figure kits for gamers and painters. Though there are 2 painted figures as well, a large Ogre (60mm tall in 28mm scale!) and an Orc. Check it out if you're interested. Our toy soldier new releases will be announced next week, so stay tuned for that.

We are considering producing some of these, mostly the Orcs and Goblins, in 60mm hand painted metal as well. Something a bit different!

Hope you're all well and will announce toy soldier releases next week!

Best,

Matt

The female figures may be a little too risqué for young collectors.

Interesting.Probably trying to attract younger collectors.

I collected Warhammer and Warhammer 40k years ago. Still have some of them. It was/ still is a great hobby.. You had to paint those, this being painted it is a plus... It will definitely attract the younger crowd.. And in the place where I live at.. It also attracted the military...
I will see in a couple of weeks, how much I will go for.. At least $100

I used to do Warhammer Fantasy back in the day. I do not have any of those figures anymore but I still appreciate their allure. These First Legion fantasy figures are some of the nicest I have ever seen!

..its a different niche, it shouldnt detract from what First Legion makes. But definitely opens the door for FL from a different group, to see what else FL offers....

looked over the kick starter pages and it only mentions two painted figures and everything else seems to be unassembled and unpainted.
I imagine licensing would be impossible, but I can imagine what a similar line with Game of Thrones theme would be like. {eek3} ^&grin

Good luck Matt in the new venture.

Hopefully this opens the door for 60mm painted Space Marines!

FOR THE EMPEROR!!!

The figures in the KS are unbuilt/unpainted resin kits except for the very two last add-on figures, which will be available fully painted as shown.

Really, this is a totally different market than that of our primary business of hand painted historical figures. So I don't imagine there will be too much cross over or overlap in terms of customers, which is of course how we want it to some extent. However, the basic core competencies for us as a company are pretty much the same to make either, so we thought we'd take a shot and expand into what is a much larger, but much more competitive, market. We'll see how it goes. One thing we do well though that we will apply to these figures is hand painting some of them as well as most likely doing 60mm painted versions of some of them (Orcs and Goblins come to mind, particuarly the Orc camp figures and the camp itself). We're also working on some Science Fiction stuff as well.

And no, this will have absolutely no effect on our hand painted historical ranges. Well, except if we do a 60mm fantasy painted series, then it would just be like any other 60mm range we currently do. But generally speaking, there really isn't any overlap at all with our 60mm historical stuff - different scuptors, different production locations, etc..... About the only overlap is Constantine and I, neither us get to sleep any more. :)

As I cannot build or paint and only collect 60mm, the possibility you are considering 60mm painted sounds good to me, especially those seductive fantasy women Matt, very tempting. ^&grin, Robin.
