I have a question for Matt:

-is there any chance First Legion will print a club collector magazine, something like WBritain or KC have???

or

-at least is there any chance to get some special collectors club LIMITED figures or anything like that, so that will drag new collectors to buy First Legion!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really think First Legion is the best toy soldier company out there, maybe too expensive for my pocket, but at least i will like to be a member of First Legion club and buy some limited figures instead of full range series.......

Think about that Matt!!!!

I disagree a little bit.

I mean I prefer electronic files instead of glossy paper.. No need to pay more for our FL figures because of an increase in production cost for the manufacturer.. I mean we all know that in the end it's the customer who would pay for this kind of pamphlets.

A collector's club would be great though.. I do believe however that the 'personality figures' from FL are that.. strictly limited pieces.. and simply stunning ! The crown of my collection.

"Print Catalogs
None yet, but coming soon. "

I lifted that quote from the First Legion downloads section of their website , Its been there for three years so I'm not holding my breath for the print catalogs :D

That being said I'm with some of the other guys the news letter is just fine for me , if they were to make catalogs the cost would be just past onto the customers and i say no thanks . I have bought a couple of figures and really don't need much prompting to buy more , a new release and I'm in . They look better in person... and to me the photo's they show on the website and news letters look pretty good and that's good enough for me . I'm sure catalogs may be a good idea to hand out at trade shows to maybe get some new customers , but to me if your at a trade show and see the product and don't buy some there is not much a catalog could do for you ;) and if you do buy some why would you need a catalog just do a search on the web for First Legion and wala all you need is there .

While I'm not a big fan club guy , if they made a figure that you could only purchase from being a member and I really wanted it then I guess I would have to join . All these gimmick marketing ploys are lost on me , I'm already buying the **** figures as fast as I can afford :eek:

Aleš ,
I would just suggest since you really like First Legion figures just buy one or two from each line you have a collecting interest in . There really is no need to feel like you have to collect full ranges , one or two figures as a representation is just fine . Man I wish I could take my own advise  Happy collecting Gebhard

Ur right Gebhard
No xtra cost
The website has it all
As far as club figure well i would have to join
Maple Leaf
Could it be possible they would make Blucher as a club figure?

Gebhard, I'm with you. I don't really see the need for a collectors club, a print catalog or anything else. The point you made about the costs of the catalog being passed on to us is valid one. It just doesn't seem worth additional dollars to have a color catalog in hand, when I can just as easily see the pics online. The website and the newsletter are just fine for me. Especially if there is a preview or two in the newsletter, as has been happening recently.

Blücher club figure :eek:now that would be plain cruel , I don't think Matt would do that to me . I just don't see First Legion doing a collectors club but maybe I'm wrong , it's neat to think about . Maybe they could make some of famous movie monsters something not military related  its just a thought . How about Old TV stars ....I'd buy a Sanford and Son series I can see Grady now Good Gobbly Goop :D

I'm with ya... Mr Matt plays his hand close to the vest and that's cool , I too like the little sneak peaks he has been dropping in the Newsletters of late .. best Regards Gebhard

Volume discount.

I need an incentive to buy these figures :)

come on you guys- aditional cost!!!!!!
I am sure this will not cost you 100 USD aditional cost........
The WBritains they sale package around 60 USD and you get a catalogue, the 4 issue of standard magazine,a free figure,.....it is a monney well spend.

BUT i "hear ya" colegues, so i think we do not need a print catalogue or stamndard magazines,..... but we need at least a club member card ( so we can feel special and important and when i go shopping i can have it in my wallet next to my Eurocard-mastercard :D:D:D ) and with this card is being a member First leggion will also allow us to buy some LIMITED Figures.
That is all, no print catalogues,magazines,.....just a Club card and a special figure,set,...what ever.....I am sure this si not too much Trouble for the First Legion, and it will be nice for person like me who can not afford to buy a full range of Napoleonics and (bankropt), so i can just start to collecting their Club Figures....I think it is an awsome idea, maybe for an Oscar or Grammy material idea!!!!!!!

If i can suggest to Matt what kind of figures he can put in his Club card members:

-maybe each year he put a special limited Figure with a flag (it will be very nice to have represents diferent types of soldiers with flags and they will be very colorfull figures, very atractive,....) and they can be also used for those who collect full ranges, and for me it will look cool on the shelf

-or you think of one range and each year you put one figure on the market so after ten years we will have this range of ten figures and more years more figures so after 25 years we will have 25 figures,....i am sure no one will wish to skip the year an dthe onew who skop first year, second, third year,...they will also wish to buy this previous figures so it will be very valuable at the market!!!!!

Think about that Matt while you driving your Harley davidson and push it to the limit!

Rock on MAtt!!!!!!!!!! wrooooooooooooommmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!

Great idea about the flag sets for club figures. For someone like me who collects a few figures from each release, different British regimental flags would be awesome. Another idea that I would have for club figures would be, Drummer for the British and Russian Artillery, Swiss, Italians, Corsican Tirailleurs, and Irish in French service. Also I heard about a French Cavalry unit that served under Wellington at Waterloo. That would be a very interesting figure to have. So many possibilities for a "one off" figure release.
I know that FL releases are centered on Borodino and Waterloo, but I for one would like to see Marines released
