I picked this up and really liked it. Not going to buy these consistently. But the quality is amazing. Since this is my first purchase. What are the marks on the base? Thanks! Bradmisc 009 (640x480).jpgmisc 010 (640x480).jpgmisc 011 (640x480).jpg

Thanks Chasbo. Very much appreciated. I am a rookie at this. I am amazed at the painting detail. What do the markings on the bottom mean? Thanks again for your help. Really appreciated!

Great looking figure. You should keep a lookout for the Civil War Generals series. They show up on eBay from time to time.

I am no expert on this but the large writing on the far left is AeroArt, the number is the AeroArt model number and the writing above (I believe) is the artist; Kolobob in this case.

Thanks Brad for the info. Very much appreciated. I still am amazed at the detail.

Great purchase. Awesome face. First Legion still has ways to go.

I have to admit I got a good deal on this since it had no box. I don't think I would have pulled the trigger on it at full price. I still like the overall value and quality of FL. Still can't be beat.

I got my first Russian figure a couple of months ago and the more you look at it the more you appreciate the artistry.

Agree with you. Here is a question. Does one painter paint the figure. Or do different people paint the figure?

The big A is Arsenyev's studio, Russian Vityaz

Kolobob is a broker and he leverages various studios including Russian Vityaz. His exclusive figures are done by Tatiana Gapchenko's studio, Nevskaya Miniatura.

Aeroart uses sculpts for various studios as many of the sculpts are not exclusive. The Aeroart samples I have have a decal on the bottom.

The other letters are the sculptor and painter although I'm not sure which is which. I've tried to find a listing of artists but haven't been successful.

One artist would paint the entire figure.

This is a nice sample BTW.

Thanks Frank for the info. Very much appreciated. It is cool thinking that one person painted this. Oh, and the AX is very sharp. I think it is stainless steel.!

yes the axe is stainless
and it is machined by one guy, and only one guy who does all the weapons for the various studios.
Only one artist is painting the figure.. The only thing I don't like with some russian figures, is that the primer coat is sometimes very thin and the paint can rub away pretty easily
Also, now since you own one very nice russian figure, please keep it away from UVs in order to keep it as colorful for years to come.

Cheers

Alex

That is an Arsenyev Studios figure (probably made for AeroArt - it's in their book, but when they split, he continued to use some of his molds). It was sculpted by Juri Serebriakov. I could not find who that painter is. It first entered production in 2000. The ME28 is the catalog #. The technical name of yours is Knight, Charging w/Axe 14th Century.

The production logo is the main one on the left, the painter is the top middle and the sculptor is the one that appears on the right.
