Thsi is my first real attempt at a diorama, I was almost too embarrassed to post it considering the work that shows up on here.
But I won't get better without practice and corrections, so here goes.
I used pink foam for a base for the first time , I did not have a hotknife so I used a electric carving knife.(buying a cutter now)
While most guys suggested using a mixture of pop and sand I had some left over drywall mud from dry walling my back garage, so I used that for a base cause it was free, and after it dried I just used a combination of woodland scenic turfs and layered them over the dried mud which drying white helped with the snow effect. I did have a old tester brown model paint so I painted the side of the incline before using turf and snow
I don't think it's very good but I assume I will get better as I do more . I also think the colors do not blend as well as they should but I only worked with what I had laying around because I wanted to do my first one on the cheap and spend more as I learn to get better.
