With roads or even tracks being rare on the frontier, wagons aren't practicable, but pack animals are, so a young settler having been in town, trading some furs for supplies for his family hurries back to their cabin in the woods, unfortunately he meets uninvited visitors heading towards their cabin.

Great series of dioramas, you have presented there Steve. I can't wait to get back to this era myself but i have a few projects to tidy up first. Regards Greg.

Thanks Greg, just dipping in to a few different eras that interest me, as I read various first hand accounts that help inspire the scenes. Reading Rogers Journal of the FIW at present and if you've seen the film North West Passage. The film is actually based on fact from his journal, though not just from the raid on St Francis but several others as well !

Loved that film and i would say that's what started off my interest in the FIW. My first diorama of this period featured the rangers, one of my most treasured collections. One of my photos. Greg.

Great photo Greg ! You've done an excellent job on the realistic water.
JJD really come up trumps when it comes to accessories. The whale boats do look very good and I'm getting very tempted, though with the exchange rate at present buying from America makes them very expensive. So perhaps when the rate is better or a see a good deal !

Always like pack animals, whether Elephant, camel, horse or donkey, so great to see in this dio. Nice to see people who are passionate about their collection. Great scenes. Robin.
