Guys, can anyone tell me if FL plan to make more Rebs in attacking poses to go with their first wave of releases, also do they have a retirement plan for this range of any type?.

Rob

Rob,

My guess is yes, on more Rebs, after they finish with Buford's Union troops.

As far as retirements, I don't see that for a long time, one of the nice things about FL. You can take your sweet time.

Hi Rob,
Still flirting with this line :wink2: I don't own any but I have seen them in the flesh and they are really nice . I don't think these guys are labeled as Special Collectors Sets so they should be available for some time yet allowing you to pick one or two up hear and there . One of the great things about collecting First Legion is that its a marathon not a sprint , a lot less pressure to buy now before its gone . I sure hope it stays that way as I'm collecting 3 lines so far and could not keep up if it were any other way .. Oh and congratulations on the new Normandy releases they will go very nicely with your invasion diorama .. Cheers Gebhard

I've posted photos of the dozen sets I have if you do a brief search. There really aren't any finer American Civil War figures. I also like that Matt is following a theme and slowly building on that. Also, no pressure to get these fast.

Thanks to both you guys for your posts. I just love the look of these figures and the idea they would be around for some time makes them even more attractive. I think they have lots of character and well posed, the guy taking a musket ball is my favourite I think , a natural and effective pose.

Thanks for your kind remarks re the M7 Gebhard, I am very pleased as the original has gone up in price as to be out of my price range, so I'm a happy collector, thanks again Gebhard and best wishes

Rob

I know I posted a whole bunch of photos but can't find them. However, I did find the thread that had the photos of the flag bearer and have brought it to the top. That is one of the best figures I have ever seen, bar none.

Thanks Brad, very kind mate. That is an excellent flag bearer, all these figures are very nicely done indeed. They seem to have the grim determination that those men must have had that summer day when they set out to cross that wheatfield

Here are some of the photos I posted, not the best photos I'm afraid :redface2:

Excellent shots Brad, very effective in the group like that. Have you got the guy stopping musket ball, I couldn't see him.

Your pics look just fine, as the simplicity of them keeps the focus on the figures. I agree, that this line is a great one. If FL didn't have the AWI range, I would be all over this one.

As far as the retirements, it doesn't seem to have been an issue for most people so far. For example, the British Guards came out about three years ago and just in the last 6-8 months it seems they have finally sold out of a lot of the poses. Still, most people had 2+ years to pick them up.

It doesn't seem that FL has any firm 'retirement' plan. Which is fine by me...
