Well, at least as you can all see, new figures are being worked on.
The Swiss Sculpts are conversions primarily from our original release of French Line Infantry sold out for many years now. They've been improved in some cases, given the correct headware, etc..... None of them are from the Wurttemburg sculpts, which i really don't like (the base marching figure is much too wooden/stiff). Understand guys that with a release such as Swiss Infantry we aren't going to invest $15k into brand new sculpts when we have so many existing sculpts that can be converted to Swiss. It's not financially feasible to do so and if we had to to, there wouldn't be a Swiss release. We are also converting the 18th Line Infantry firing line, one of my favorite releases, into Italian Infantry at Borodino. Again, we aren't going to sculpt a brand new Italian Firing line when we have the sculpts already done. We obviously sculpt new figures when doing French as French are popular enough to justify it. We have to leverage that investment into other things and that's what allows us to produce such figures as Swiss and Italians in full blown releases of 12-20'ish figures.
The Russian Hussars are the same sculpts as previous with some conversion work done and a standard bearer added for one of the regiments. We initially released these beautiful sculpts around 10 years ago at least, maybe more. We made very few of them and barely any of our collectors have them. Even i don't have the original figures! So we are doing these ones as much for ourselves as for our customers! Russian Hussars are stunning figures, extremely colorful and we think they make a great addition to the series. French Hussars are also being worked on, but again, those are conversions of the French Guard Chasseurs, which to me are some of the best mounted figures we've made to date.
Our biggest asset is our massive library of amazing figure sculpts. As a business, we have to leverage that asset into creative releases where we can, particularly for the Napoleonic period where so many of the uniforms are nearly the same, but the colors are strikingly different. Using this method is what allows us to create such a wide variety of Napoleonic releases covering far more than what any other company covers in terms of willingness to produce things other than "French and British."
Hope you're all staying safe!
