Flak in action (1 Viewer)

Here is the same late war Flak 88 with a crew that I built into a small pedestal display. In this case the vertical element was a city brick and cast iron fence. Using this type of wall allowed you to see the gun and crew from any angle. The building wall behind was not part of the diorama, but a separate building staged behind it to extend the scene for the photos. I hope to tackle another Flak 88 diorama on a little larger display that will include new figures and larger scenic elements… I just need to find a little extra time!

Excellent scene, Mike. I like how you pictured it. I have a 1:18 scale Flak that I remember setting up in various scenes with sand bags and figures. Fun stuff!

EDIT: (and an inexpensive 1:32 Flak as well). Really helped me move to 1:30 scale.

Thanks, Ericka designed that and laser cut it out of micro plywood used for flying models. It is pretty sturdy and takes paint well.

Fantastic scene, Mike! The W. Britain 88mm Flak gun is a fantastic model. I’ve got both the first version on the carriage and the late war rebuild variants; the latter being my favorite 😎
