Need advice on finding a darker more "weathered" look for my figures. Seems like all the flesh tones I have tried run the gamut from pale, yellowish and pink to even a glossy oriented finish.

Thx

You could try this technique

1 Paint all flesh with Humbrol flesh colour
Let it dry
2 Paint over with burn Umber ( oil colour ), wipp it with a sponge, all , then again lightly on the proeminent parts ; nose, cheeks, front, jaws, ... finger, toes, knees, elbow, biceps .... ( from here you can skip eventualy to 4 )
3 add a tiny tiny tiny amount of white on proeminent parts, brush with a dry brush, again, again.. again wih another dry brush...
add umber in the recesses, brush wih a dry brush, again, again ...
back now to even a smaller quantity of white and brush with .. again ...

4 add buewish white in eyes socket, turn the figure upside down, underline with chinese ink sepia the upper lid .
With deep blue or green or brown ink, add the eyes, remember 1/3 is under the upper lid.. add a small dot of black in the center

Don't put the eyes looking straight, but slightly left or right or/ and down ( if centered you have the impression that the guy have squint eyes )

Use this for inks : ( pen is cylindrical )
