NICE! Very close to the "true" 54mm. Let me see about the other Arabs in my collection to an Airfix figure.

Great job Tom!^&cool Airfix figures are on the small size compared to most metal figures, Airfix are more a true 1/32 scale and most metal figures run at around more a 1/31-1/30 scale and your Airfix figures would look small next to them.
Some plastic figures makers like Conte and TSSD run a bit larger but still call there figures 1/32 or 54mm but are really 1/31 scale figures. Metal companies like Britains and Conte mix well with this size but figures like K&C and Collectors Showcase seem a tad larger. Frontline metal figures are closer to true 1/32 scale. Figures can also vary in size from the same company also where figures from different sets can be smaller or larger or even from the same sets also can vary in size, so you have to kinda let your own eyes be the judge of what will work together as far as size.
Hope this helps!

(Glad I took an extra day off from work.)

I agree with Fish. Airfix is slightly smaller. The Napoleonic series is "petit." That's the only AIRFIX I have.

Tom, Compare the 3 "foot" Arabs I have to a British Soldier. Base heights are somewhat equal.

AIRFIX compared to TSSD, Steve Weston, MARX, and New CTS. Quick comparison but too small a sample to be scientific. I did boost the AIRFIX figure's height with washers to compensate for the mini-dioramas now used as figure bases.

Scott....Thanks for the pics....the Arabs seem to be thicker in the body...from the figures shown...there does not appear to be too greater a difference.....the Napoleonic would be thicker in the body I reckon due to the uniform and equipt...now those are figures that would be **** hard to do...and...not for me.....Hey...got any cowboy figures......none of the big firms seems to be making them...I have'nt found any.......thanks for all the info.......Tom

No Cowboys other than a few Replicant western figures. Those are kind of unique but closer to 54mm.

Hey TomB, Toy Soldiers of San Diego just came out with some plastic cowboys. They also have the Earp brothers so you can make a "Tombstone" scenario. You can see them on the TSSD website.
