Here is a quick heads-up for you if you use Humbrol paint.

Today was the day that Humbrol closed its doors...it is shipping NO MORE product. Period!

US distributors have been cleaned out by their re-sellers, stocking up while supplies last. The cupboards are getting empty.

If YOU use Humbrol paint, like I do, you may want to figure out what you need and get an order to your favorite supplier QUITE SOON.

I've been wanting to sell my Humbrol paints ever since I switched to Vallejo so maybe now is a good time to sell them. :)

Don't know why the thinner cost you that much. I guess that there are gougers in every business. Humbrol thinner can be had -- while it is available at all -- for $2.20. However, there is nothing unusual about Humbrol chemistry, and ANY enamel thinner will work just fine. You can find Testor's thinner everywhere.

There are plenty of other great paints out there, but I've always found Humbrol to work quite nicely for me, and will miss it if it disappears, and the line is not picked up by some other company.

It might be my imagination, but I think Humbrol thinners give me better results using an airbrush. I'll miss those fumes :) when I can't get anymore.

I like the Humbrol paints for painting glossy and matte figures. I have a large supply of Humbrol I acculmated through the years and especially for air brush use. I would not be surprised if another company buys Humbrol. I also think acrylic paint is getting better. Leadmen
