OH MAN what a great display Tim. Such great talent everything looks fabulous. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Tim a great display that nicely shows off your outstanding buildings.

Randy

I just threw the buildings together to see what they would look like bunched up and grabed a few del prado figures I had on the shelf and the scenic stuff was still out for the other mini dio I did so I grabed a few figures that were handy that would look like a forage party.
The animals being out on the table gave me the idea. I figured it looked like a good place to forage?:p

Cool diorama:D, who makes that civilian figure:confused:?

Vick

The lady is from Lemax and the man is from K&C Dickens line. Britains will be making some Napoleonic era civillians soon, they should come in handy for these types of scenes.

Hi, Tim, pretty good for something "thrown" together :D

I think I may have asked you before, in another post, but did you make the buildings, or are they commercial? If you made them, what did you use for the thatch on the roof? I'm looking for tips for thatching.

Prost!

Brad Those buildings are all scratch built. You can find threads on the forum of all of them at various stages of the building process. The thatched roof is made from a craft broom cut up and just glued to the roof its really quite easy just a little time consuming. Glue A little over sized on and trim to size!
I just made that roof as a temp roof till I had a chance to make the really time consuming broken popsicle tile roof like the other building has.

You guys should give these projects a try, this is a really fun part of the hobby and you will learn and get better with every new project you do so don,t get down if the first one comes out looking a bit funky the next one you do will look much better as the one after that will be better also ect. ect.

Thanks, Tim, I thought that might have been your method for thatching. That's what I'm looking at, too.

I've thought about using the popsicle stick tiles, though, cutting the ends off for use, rather than breaking them. But that is just a little too tedious a task. On the other hand, I've drilled out all the holes on the dive brakes on a Monogram SBD, which is almost meditative, when you get down to it. But there is also a line of diorama products made by Hansa Systems, consisting of scale building materials, right down to individual bricks, ceramic/cinder blocks, cobblestones, roof tiles and rafters, etc. I might try their product, to see how they work.

Prost!
