Morning chaps!:wink2:

Took a short break from forum as one or two things that went on had wound me up a notch or two:wink2: but after a brief break am back in the saddle so to speak, so I availed myself of forum technology to make some changes to my settings, got my K&C flag a waving and am ready for the second half of the collecting year{bravo}} (thanks to all those who pm'd/ emailed in the last few days by the way:smile2:)

Right, I know its a little early, but what the hoo, what are we hoping for on 1st July? Am finally going to get my collecting paws on that there Humber one week today in London (along with the retiring Stretcher team- got a whole new dio planned for that to stand in), but whats coming next month? We are due the Normandy version of the truck that was released earlier this year, but we've had such a superb wave of releases for that battle that I dare not hope that is up next. I was also wondering if that excellent looking RAF command car thats on the way would be a single release or accompanied by others?

So half way through the year (almost) my friends, what are you hoping for next from the house of K&C?

Rob

More Normandy facades for a start. With the dio I have in mind I am a couple short and could use a few more . It has to be facades only because of the lack of space I am being confronted with in "my room" bit by bit ( the recently produced garage is beautiful but too big for the size of the dios I am usually making)
guy:)

Ah yes, the old ' space issue' haunts many of us I'm afraid, one of these days I'm finally going to get that garage converted and yippppeeee!^&grin:wink2:

NOTHING...

Its a SUNDAY ......

No trading in toy soldiers in Hong Kong........

You need to ask another question...

"What are we hoping for on 2nd July?"

Lets see what now come up :) :)

Good to see you back, Rob,

John

Obee,
Not hoping for anything on 2 JULY either. 1st is a Sunday but should be a holiday to celebrate Chinese taking over HK. So 2nd is a holiday for the day following Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Establishment Day.

So that means Despatches on 3rd JULY.

This year I get to be there for the 15th anniversary in HK.
Regards
Brett

Good one Brett,

tonight I didn't think to check the public hoildays in HK.....

and of course you would know.....

Rob, Good to have you back. Andy may have had to send out another search party for you. I was hoping that instead of being upset about something that it was because you were out visiting another great battlefield somewhere and bringing back pictures for us!! Nonetheless...welcome back.

Anyhow, I am hoping for some winter snow figures in either the Waffen SS or Battle of the Buldge lines. Yes, I have finally decided to move to those series from Afrika Korps.

Thanks,

Ludwig

With so many K&C ranges now, it's hard enough to guess which ranges will have new stuff, let alone specific models and figures. These days I just hope it's something I want. Even with so many WWII and NAP ranges I collect, it's really hit and miss compared to 5 years ago when every dispatch had 2 or 3 items.

Thank you Ludwig, very kind. Not too upset but maybe a break now and again does one the world of good, and I certainly feel refreshed and raring to wave that flag again:wink2:

As for Battlefield visits my friend I can hardly see enough! Been addicted to them since I was about thirteen, my wonderfully wonderfully wonderfully understanding wife is actually talking about us visiting both Gettysburg and Normandy again in 2014 for my 50th....I'm going to do so much cooking and cleaning between now and then:wink2:

Congrats on starting the Bulge, one of the very best ranges Andy makes in my view.^&cool

Cheers Ludwig

Thank you Rob. You are right, every now and then we all need a break from something like this. Heck, I am probably due handing you back the torch.

On the battlefields I am too a lover of them. I have been to so many in Europe and a few in America. I have dug relics at a few. For me the haunting of all had to be Verdun as the day I was there it was cold and foggy and you could just hear it... But always on my mind was the Custer Battlefield visit. I am not absolutely sure why. It is true that we Germans are suckers for the Cowboy and Indian thing....but it was so much more. It was a feeling like ....you were there. If you ever get a chance I would recommend it.

OK, now the cat is out of the bag! I am creating a winter WW2 diorama! It will be my finest one to date. Many of your and others work on this forum have motivated me with good ideas.

One question....do you know if you can get a spray can of like water base snow flocking? I am trying winterize some items but I want the option to wipe/ wash it off later!!

Back to the whole reason for your thread!! Bring on the BULGE!!!( and I do not mean my rather rotund mid-section here in my later years) I am hooked and I am buying items on the secondary market too that are LONG retired!!

Always great Rob,

Ludwig

Hey Ludwig,

I was indeed lucky enough to visit Custers battlefield many many years ago when I was much younger, something about a Battlefield that gets you everytime, I think its the silence. Its such a strong feeling on the Somme one feels you could almost reach out and touch it. I once stood in Sanctuary Wood outside Ypre and the silence and wind in the trees, I'm not saying I believe in ghosts but man it was spine tingling that day.{eek3}

Good luck with your older items, there is something very satisfying about hunting down that item you've been after isn't there.

Good luck with your dio, I look forward to seeing that. As for spray snow, I don't know of any off hand but there maybe some you can paint on but still remove after?? I'll have a look at my suppliers later and if anything jumps out at me I'll give you a shout.

As for Bulge items, we may be a touch early, I think they are normally in September/October dispatches.

All the best

Rob

Good to see you back Rob. Nothing wrong with taking a break from anything. Now to give my input for upcoming product , the .........S.....word ! :wink2:

Thanks PA, I'd like to think it was S for Desert SHERMAN:wink2: But I think its the S you guys have been asking for for some time, I hope you and Wayne and all you ' S' fans get what you're after{bravo}}

Glad to see you posting again Rob. I've made room and dusted out the stockade. All you need to do is send the guilty person/persons to me and we'll lock them up and throw away the key. ;)

As for the upcoming dispatches I'm really not sure what to expect, we're past D-Day and its too soon for Bulge or OMG so I'm thinking we're in for surprises or some non-WWII stuff. Truthfully I'm hoping for a quiet month with few retirements as my wallet still has indigestion over recent purchases of the U.S. LCVP and associated crew and the P-40. {sm2}
