Corresponded with John recently and he confirmed that more Culloden releases are coming including cavalry. He also confirmed new releases for the "Seven Years War" in both Europe and India.
Frederick the Great and his adversaries would be outstanding with great uniforms and flags!

Rich...if he's finally coming out with Dragoons...I hope he plans on realeasing more than just a couple of them...I would think no less than 6-8 to make a diverse grouping...preferably 8...

Oh dear....

7 Years War will certainly interrupt my Napoleonic collecting, but maybe I should concentrate on that era because of the lesser number of contries in the conflicts but still will be SO colourful :)

Thanks for the information!
Looking forward to this.

Fantastic news - I was getting afraid that John had downgraded Culloden{eek3}

Thanks for sharing!

Certainly good news about Culloden. The Seven Years War is a virtually untapped resource in matte and will be extremely interesting. Look forward to it all. -- Al

And the cavalry for the SYW in Europe will be very nice looking. Very glad to hear of this news. SYW was all over and we might be able to see some figures from the Ottoman Empire too.

Very good news.

Good to hear about some future Culloden releases and the expanding of the Seven Years War to include Europe and India. Sounds like some very good things to come. :)

Any guesses about which battles John might cover in the SYW? Maybe Rossbach.

May be, the french enemy troops could be a reason for John; but the battles against Austrians are more interesting: Leuthen ....

not to be a "dream killer" here...but when I mentioned this to JJ...he said it was on "his list"...I wouldn't look for it too soon...but I may be wrong...he's usually pretty secretive about his new series releases...

You have a good point Mike. I've asked about the SYW as well. And I know John has an interest in doing the period.

The thing is, that John is just one person with a few people to help pack, and ship. He does all the sculpting and master painting, not to mention all the business side of things. We all know how good John is at replying to e-mails.

But, again, Mike's point about John being secretive is very good. I would think that this instance, things might be closer to a reality than not. It's the first time I have read that he is doing a range and what country he is coming out with first. Most of the time he gives a reply of how he has thought about it and likes the idea, but never anything like a firm commitment. At least not until he has the resin proofs back to show at the next show.

It will be interesting to see what is at the Chicago show. Or maybe the Hackensack, NJ show since John is going to be at that one this year according to the post on his travel plans around early November.

So while I agree with Mike that I should take the news with a grain of salt, I am very pleased to at least hear that he is moving in that direction with more concrete information than just something he is thinking about. I really hope he does some nice cavalry. I'm going to start building new shelves.

Just as a point of interest John mentioned that sculpting a cavalry figure takes him as long as four or five infantry figures. He also said that the airplane models are very time consuming.
I think for the SYW he will test the waters with some Prussians and demand will dictate expansion of the series.
I am thrilled that more Culloden figures are coming! Amazing how much one man can accomplish.

WHAT? You have space for more shelves? How do you do that?!?!

WHAT? You have space for more shelves? How do you do that?!?!

You build an addition and make sure that you have a room behind the garage. She got a library for her books upstairs and I got a game room for the soldiers. We are not moving for twenty years or more now.

I also discovered that I could remove the wall board (dry wall in the US) and build the shelves between the framing studs of the wall. It works pretty well and you don't have to worry about floor space being taken up.

Of course I only have one wall to work with now. The other one has paintings and the last two already have shelves.

Now I also need to try to focus on one hobby at a time, yeah like that will happen. :)

I know little about the European side of the Seven-Years War, but I am thinking the Prussians should a very high snazzy rating! If I expand my collecting beyond the FIW, I might limit it to calvary units which are easily displayed in mass on a single shelf.

I could be wrong, but I think Prussian Artillery Paint Color is very close to Revolutionary War and 1812 American Artillery Units, so there may be a chance at double dipping here. Unsure, if the Austrian Artillery Paint was yellow yet, but if yellow, there is the potential for high snazzy - cannon in a canary yellow!!!!

And yes, the display space crisis is hitting me hard. My new purchases are those that I can slip onto an existing display shelf - like Red Jacket. Space is so tight now, I am thinking of placing the Ticonderoga Log Wall on my single Culloden Shelf as an English Element ---- the neighbors will never know.

Great Page for the Seven Year War, but as Mile Miller said, no guarantees that this will be a release.

I think John has confirmed the SYW line. Or least that is what his German dealer reported. I'm doubling down on Plassey and Rossbach as the battles. Plassey in particular has that British schoolboy appeal that John really seems to enjoy.
