Best wishes

Rob

Rob,

Gabriel had decided to go for the double drive before the calliope, but I'm not sure eyt of what will be first.

I'll keep you posted.

Ana

Ana,

Will you be at OTSN this year? I can bring you some material on the M4A1 Duplex Drive if you want. I have a set of drawings of the skirts and supports plus some modeling information.

Let me know,

Gary

Yes, Gary, we'll be there. I always appreciate the information that you bring us so I will accept your offer. The duplex drive will be released before the Chicago show (I think), but we can always add new features to the model.

Thanks!

With all due respect Gary;

What's so hot about "Duplex Drive" compared to other variants?

No offense taken. It's not so much "hot" are "Different". The Duplex drive vehicle were an iteresting mix of early and late features for the tank and then you add the floatation gear, propellors, steering gear and they make an interesting model that stands out a a crowd of Sherman gun tanks. Personally, I have been fascinated with the Duplex Drive Shermans, especially the US built M4A1 type since the late 1970s. They have lots of detail nuances from regular production tanks.

A agree that the 4.5" Multiple Rocket Launcher, T34, aka "Calliope" is also a fascinating tank that stands out. It was photographed on M4, M4A1, and M4A3 75mm (Wet Stowage) tanks so there may be more stuff coming in the future.

Thanks for clearing that up Gary.

We'll see you in Chicago this year.

I'm looking forward to Chicago being my big "hobby" trip this year. My wife and I are looking at going a few days early and checking out some of the Chicago attractions before heading to Schaumburg.

Agreed, and since I am into model trains I get a major kick out of that big H-O scale layout that has downtown Chicago in H-O scale. Pretty cool modeling!

We're also going to spend a day at the Field Museum, maybe an art museum, and maybe some shopping. There are a couple decent hobby shops for tank models in the Chi-town area and I might have to check them out.

By the way, for those that haven't visited the 1st Division Museum down in Cantigny Park (Wheaton) you have missed a good visit. A bunch of US tanks out in the park, and a nice museum inside. It's only about 20-30 min SW of the OTSN site.
