If there's a lisence problem it would have to be General Motors. The CCKW was their design and I suppose they either want a royalty for the name or somebody in the Legal Department objected to FoV calling it a "GMC". Maybe they can just paste stickers over the boxes changing the designation to "WW2 Army Truck"? Many of these cases loose when taken to court, however the truck was NOT a government design but it was part of a government project. It would be easier for FoV to re-box than fight GM for years.
For this scale, if FoV fallsflat on their faces it looks like our primary hope would be to get Britains interested in making our trucks. They have the experience and expertise to attempt the project - but it would be a more expensive truck.
The poor old CCKW design has been done in the major modeling scales (1/87, 1/76, 1/72, 1/48, 1/35, even 1/30) but NEVER in 1/32!
