French Farmhouse (1 Viewer)

They have been selling for a lot recently. I wonder how many were made, they sold out from stores quicker than most other scenery.

I am quite suprised, that is big money for a fairly recent piece which was

made I'm sure in a fairly moderate to large run.

Its new people to the hobby - trying to pick up a great diorama piece.

Lots of the Europeans are Napoleonic and WWII Collectors and this diorama piece works with them all. Plus with the Euro - that is running about 1.60 to the USD - they get a great discount buying in the USA.

Well if the farmhouse (and it certainly is a nice piece) worth $500-$600

what can one of these babies be worth?

I don't expect we will find out, because I have yet to see one offered on

Ebay.......perhaps at the Chicago show:confused:

When my wife drew my attention to the price, I was stunned. I would very much like to have the farmhouse, but not for that amount of money! Are there any other model farmhouses that would fit the bill? And has anyone seen the current "Buy it Now" farmhouse that is being offered for the "modest" sum of $480.00? What is one to do if one does not have deep pockets?

One can always make one for themselves!

Why not try your hand at building your own farm house! Pink insulation foam is great for making scratch built buildings!
Here are a few pictures of some buildings I built myself, there are many others here who build there own buildings also and it can be a lot of fun building them and you,ll have more pride in the finished product also. I,ll try and find and post a link to some other foam building projects for you. I know Alex did a few!

Thanks for the photos & the words of encouragement. Alas, I've never had the skilled hand to produce my own stuff, even though I can manage to adequately arrange someone else's handiwork. Now, to complicate matters, the medicine that I take for my transplanted heart makes my hands shake as though I have palsy. On really bad days, I can only look at, and not touch, my collections.
