Anyone - and I understand some of you seem to have direct contact with John Jenkins - know if he is planning on continuing with the FIW sets? With the Jacobites and 1812 etc. and him only being one person, is emphasis on the FIW stuff going to be less in the new year? It would help my pocket book but break my heart. Any news? Braddock would seem like the end of the Monongahela series? Anyone?

From what I hear Monongahela is done except for a few speciality sets.He is got 4 or 5 more sets for Snowshoes but is supposed to expand POA quite a bit.I haven't heard much about St.Francis except a possible indian village. He doesn't have many figure sets for that range yet.Needs Ranger and Indian sets, maybe some French.

John is a great guy and will share information unlike some of his secretive competitors.
More British for the War of 1812 are coming.
More POA and he did mention the possibility of an Indian village for the raid on St Francis.
Monongahela is done after the Braddock set.
I think the FIW will stick around for some time. More rangers, Indians and colonials I think.

I believe John said that he was planning on continuing the French and Indian war series thru possibly 2010. I was wondering how you guys feel about that. Would you like John to continue the F&I series or move onto other conflicts like the Jacobites? My personal feelings are as long as John continues to release F&I stuff I will continue to buy and the same goes for his War of 1812 stuff. As far as other conflicts I will deicide as they come. The Jacobites don’t interest me so I will try hard to avoid buying them. But, they are very nice figures.

I would like to see the FIW series continue. Ticonderoga seems like a must at some point. In the near term it sounds like a heavy dose of Quebec and Rangers. John mentioned expanding on St. Francis/Ranger camp or Indian village - also something "obscure", but not necessarily FI.

I think an American Colonial regiment or militia force would be a welcome addition. We haven see much of that yet. I know that regiments of this kind were at the battle of Ticonderoga. Something like this.

I am really looking forward to more new releases of the War of 1812 - I personally avoided the POA (budget concerns) - have really done all that I want to do with STFRAN with the Fort and House.

The BM range was very fun and looks great in my collection. I have to pick up a couple of more then will be caught up. Glad that is coming to an end to be able to refocus on 1812.

Here are a couple of old pictures of my JJD BM diorama - more figures have been added in the last few months.

Jacobite Highlanders could be converted with little effort to Highlanders serving in North America, couldn't they? So, if John does stop the French-and-Indian-War sets, and puts out Jacobites, we'd always have material for conversions.

Prost!

Definitely would be sad day if the FIW sets were become less of an attention for Jenkins - some great new figures but just not my periods of interest. I suppose I could then focus on collecting everything FIW of John's and doing some conversion work to keep it interesting. The Jacobites/Highlanders would have been a natural for Ticonderoga. We would have also been given more French. The fieldworks and abbatis would have been a great addition as well.
All of John's figures are exciting and very tempting but with so much to collect and so many great manufacturers you have to make at least one period your collecting interest - FIW it is for me. Hopefully he'll have the time and resources to keep going or maybe find a second sculptor to focus on some of the new stuff. Can't blame him for wanting to expand, but there is still such a growing audience out there who are just starting to find his work. Maybe if we all pooled our resources we could get John to do a custom series - exclusive to the Treefrog Forum. Or maybe he can start a collectors club and continue specialty items through there? Regardless, I will keep buying whatever he produces for the FIW until he stops.

Love the pics Capitolron! Nice collection. I envy you. Cheers, ssorc1

Love that set up, Ron. Nice to see the photos again.

As has been stated more than once now....Ticonderoga Pleeeease! This would surely be a great tonic for the post Monongahela series blues.

Debating now whether to focus on POA or 1812, or......both. :)
