What was this power point for, just out of curiosity? School? God, I wish they'd even let us talk about military history in school. Unfortunately, I think mine is too concerned with political correctness to acknowledge the existence of warfare.

I left school a few years ago tex. You know when Ronald Reagan was still president. I gave a talk to our local collectors club just thought you guys might be intereseted,:D

Yeah, thanks.

The one question I have always had is how did those countries manage to produce such vast quantities of those ornate uniforms during wartime? And this was at the very start of the Industrial Revolution. The average foot-soldier's uniform was pretty intricate, too.

Damian,

Great show. Just as a matter of interest, I noticed your photo of the painting '4th Hussars at Friedland 1814'. That painting as you correctly state hangs in the Art Gallery of NSW here in Sydney. You should know this is one hell of a painting! It is massive - as big as a house and takes up a whole wall on its own. It is mesmerising and I often visit the museum just to sit there in front of it. For a Napoleonics collector, its the closest thing to actually being there during the charge as it is so lifelike because of its size, you get completely lost in it.

Kiwi

You aree lucky to be able to vist that painting Kiwi. I visited Sydney in 2000 but didn't know about it otherwise I would have been there. I went to all the usula tourist places, the Rocks, Circular Quay and the Darling Harbour Bridge but not the art gallery.

Damian
