We are very pleased to announce the pre-order for the second half of the French Line infantry restock including four new figure codes. This brings the total to 39 different figures making up the First Legion French Line infantry offering! No other company provides such a variety of figures allowing for the most realistic diplays of a full battalions of Napoleonic figures including center company and elite companies!

This part of the restock includes the "Terrible" 57th Line infantry charging the Fleches at Bordino, the Voltigeurs of the 85th Line Infantry skirmishing in support, and the grenadiers and voltigeurs of the 61st Line advancing in formation. We have added four new figures to this relase that compliment the original release perfectly - a march attack voltigeur in full dress, a march attack grenadier in campaign dress, and 2 new head variants of our Charging fusilier of the 57th Line. This latter figure is a favorite sculpt amongst our customers, however, with the original bare head it wasn't very suitable for multiples. We have addressed that now by adding full dress shako and forage cap variants allowing you to create a full charing display of French Line infantry.

This is the final production run of these figures and then they are being retired, so if you missed them the first time around or you want to bulk up your French forces, now is certainly the time to do so! These figures will be shipping to customers in mid-November 2010. Enjoy!

EXCELLENT Matt. I am most pleased to have you announce this restock. I am especially happy to see the new charging figures, which I can assure you will be attacking more than the Borodino Fleches for moi.:D:D

Needless to say, these will make many fine targets for the lads in green, whenever they should appear.:D

I completely agree! There are a couple here in this release that I have been waiting for.

These new figures just add to the reasons why I feel that the French Infantry is the best releases from FL overall. The Prussians come in a close second, but they do not have as many different possible figures.

I just hope they made a lot of them.

I don't mean to scare you but I am sure you saw that line in the newsletter about how some of the new releases are nearly sold out already. I have my second order in already; best not wait too long mates.;)

Love the new figures :) I sure hope these don't sell out to quick I still need to pick up a few more .. Thanks First Legion for making figures for serious collectors which enable us to represent all of the companies that make up a historic battalion ..:) . All the best Gebhard

As already stated I think that the French Infantry is my favorite release so far from FL. It suffers however from the fact that it was one of the first that they did. Most of the later releases all include a wounded figure and a dead figure. These two additions would be much appreciated. Let’s hope it’s not too late. Matt has often said that this will be the end of the French Infantry figure after this release. OK it will the end of these figures, but maybe he will revisit this unit with additional all new figures. In that release I would like to see is some dead and wounded.

I think many of us would like casualty figures for this group but it seems rather unlikely at this point. For the meantime, I am stuck with using repainted Britains for that purpose. Probably the best we can expect is some with the next French infantry release, whatever that happens to be. I just hope it is not a white uniform version but those had such a limited use I think I might be safe on that. While it was one of the first releases, I don't think it suffers from much else albeit the dynamism of the poses just keeps getting better as the releases progress.;)

Not to sidetrack the thread but while we are putting in orders I'll have some Firing Prussians to go with the French lines request ;) Gebhard
