Very interesting read under the History segment of the link, especially as it relates to the interaction between the French and Native American Tribes in the western Great Lakes. The actual history segment begins about halfway down thru the link (Red Heading).

French trading and diplomancy was as error prone and problematic as the British. Dakota = Sioux

Canoe Fleet Battles !!!

Reading the history reminded me somewhat of the conflicts between the various Greek City States and a Greek Tragedy.

Many of the other histories at the bottom of the link relate to the FIW period.
