From the pages of history, came the idea for a fantastic range of toy soldiers....so we should remember, 271 years ago today....Culloden.....

...whilst the books have provided the facts, it is these wonderful figures that bring it to life.....

Thanks for posting this-one of my favourite pieces of history. You are right-JJD's excellent figures really bring this to light. Those dragoons are some of the best mounted figures on the market today IMO anyway.I just wish he would make more of them.

Very nice, Cairnbeg.
I always enjoy the combined display of Toy Soldiers and books.

A very nice display with the books as a backdrop.
As wonderful series /era by John. Strange that this series doesn't get more attention and love ...:rolleyes2:

The new box sets have made a nice addition.

Great to see the new additions to this range. The Duffy book is recommended the most balanced I've read. Hope to see more - artillery for both sides(French officer for the Jacobite gun) and Jacobite cavalry as well as Campbell militia for the government.

I love John's Culloden figures too. Here is a photo of the original diorama of Culloden Moor John made to launch his Jacobite line at the Chicago show, which he, a close friend, was kind enough to give me for my collection:
