I had my "The West Series" displayed and took them down and put them back in their boxes.
How come they never go back in and fit properly.
I know the older sets did not have the foam custom cut out as well as the newer sets, but I know when I get them back out things will be broken or bent. This is one reason why I,m reluctant to constantly change my displays.
Does this bother anyone else?

I know what you mean, it can be difficult to put your figures back in their boxes, but it can be done. I really like the pewter construction which allows you to straighten the occasional gun barrel. I often think of all the headless britians hollow lead soldiers I have had over the years. Even the slightest bend could never be repaired without destroying the figure!

I think that applies to all figures. They never seem to go back in the same way, assuming we can remember how all the figures went in. I don't have the parachute set but I'm wondering how this will go back in since I know the strings are tricky. It may be once out, you'll never get them back in properly again.

inline with the other thread about the parachutes. mike at K&C UK showed me a great way for the strings of the parachute.

You take a toilet role (not sure what you guys call them?) tube from the centre of the role and cut it into 4. This then creates nice curved card smaller tubes. when you put them away you then put either side of the the shutes strings into the seperate tubes. Bit like the drinking straws on the long guns or swords of the NAPS. Works everytime for me every time my son and myself set up the WWII display we take the chutes out and they are fine.

I cut the foam for my older items as well. Mind the foam cut on the new Imperial collection and the romans is the best!

Monty,

Sounds like a neat idea although I haven't bought the set yet. But I'm having a hard time visualizing it. Do you think you could send me photos that I could post?

I also get very frustrated trying to put K&C soldiers back into their boxes. This is one area I think K&C could use some improvement on. I used to collect Conte Civil War and WWII before all my money went into K&C. Conte puts out a very good line and it was much easier to put the soldiers back into their boxes. It just seems the foam was cut better for each individual pose to fit easier back into it’s box.
