First I would like to thank Pete for posting these. My computer is at its limits these days for doing anything really technical.
I was home two weeks ago to visit my parents on the family farm and my dad had a surprise for me.He took me to one of his friends in town where this project was completed by a father/son team.It is a totally rebuilt Quad tractor which was retrieved from operations in a sugar bush where it was sitting for years.I did not get the total history and story from the owner because he was not at home at the time I visited. So what was relayed from my dad I will share.I guess it was used after the war as a tow truck,in which a boom was placed on the back. Then it was purchased by this gentleman's family/kin and put to operations in a sugar bush in the winter time.As you can imagine finding parts where a problem and since the present owner has been involved in many Jeep restorations alot of the parts where hand built or manufactured in his machine shop.I think it looks great.
So thats the scoop.I didn't have time to go back the next day but hopefully the next time I'm home I'll get the full story. The Quad resides in Petrolia,Ontario Canada and is suppose to be the only one of its kind in Canada.Just thought I'd share.I know it was headed to Ottawa for the holiday weekend for a huge military vehicle display. It just amazes me some of the things that are still found in the bushes.Enjoy!!!
