Any idea what JJ might do after the French-Indian War? I understand that line will be wrapping up in the next couple years. How about something like the War of 1812 or the aptly named War of Jenkins' Ear?

Couple years? I can just bearly handle today let alone thinking that far into the future. I am waiting very patiently to see his promised artillery and Virginia sets.

I'm thinking they might kick something off before the French-Indian series ends. I do feel your pain with so much in the market. Anyway:

Note good old George Washington's family was involved.

I have also been thinking about this for the last few weeks. My first love is the French and Indian war and when I first saw the Monongahela set I knew that I needed to start collecting. I am hoping that this series is continued for awhile longer. My ideas for future F&I sets include the battle of the snowshoes, the battle of fort Carillon or something with William Johnson and the Iroquois Indians. I understand that all things must come to an end and ending the series with the battle of Quebec is an excellent way to do it.

The war of 1812 is not really part of the 18th century but the 200th anniversary is coming up in a few years. I am thinking a series based on this conflict has some very exciting possibilities including the battles of Queenstown heights and Chippewa.

I am looking forward to an American War of Independence series. I would love to see the battles of Saratoga, Monmouth and Bunker Hill covered. I also think the battle of Fallen Timbers would make and interesting addition to the series.

But we can not forget about all of the European battles and my guess is that the next set released will be something to do with the seven years war in Europe. I don’t know much about this side of the conflict and given the cost and my limited display space I don’t think I will get into collecting this set. But I am sure many of you will.

Welcome to the forum General Sherman:

I see you are from Syracuse. My wife and I lived there from 1972 to 2004. I was Fine Arts Librarian at Syracuse University and an adjunct faculty member in art history. Now retired to New Hampshire, Collect mainly WWII but just ordered Jenkins Death of Wolfe and single figure of Wolfe. Have you seen the PBS 2 part documentary on French & Indian War, called The War that made America? It's out on DVD if you missed it.

I would not be surprised to see a European continuation of the French-Indian line. Maybe featuring Fredrick the Great and his many battles.

Polar Bear-
Look forward to hearing your opinion on the "Death of Wolfe" set. Its one of my favorites. I will be picking up some of the new QB sets this Friday at the Valley Forge show including - hopefully - the new Wolfe figure.

Yes I have been living in Syracuse my whole life (29years) well except for the last year and a half. I spent that in Long Valley New Jersey. New Jersey has a lot of history but I’m glad to be home in Syracuse. I started to collect K&C WWII miniatures a few years ago. The first set I bought was the T-34 (I love that tank). I haven’t been real serious about collecting until I saw JJ Monongahela sets.
I did see The War that Made America and I be honest I was a bit disappointed with it. I think a lot of the details that made the war so fascinating were missed or glossed over. I am very critical when it comes to historical documentary and movies. I did like the history’s channel American revolutionary war documentary.

Combat-
Are there any battles from the seven years war that stand out that you think would make a good set?

There are a number to choose from but the Battles of Rossbach or Zorndorf would be interesting. Various Euro powers and Frederick the Great make for some nice possibilities.

General Sherman:

R: War that made America--yes I had heard others criticize the series--including questions of accuracy, which is surprising since it was based on Fred Anderson's work, a respected specialist on the war. My love is WWII but the Wolfe stuff interests me since my wife's ancestor, English artist William Woollett created the well-known engaving of The Death of Wolfe based on Benjamin West's painting that is now in a museum in Canada. i started collecting K&C in 2004 when we moved to new Hampshire. I also still have my Britains soldiers from the 1950s, which I started collecting around the time of Queen Elizabeth's Coronation in 1953.

I think Frederick the Great's Prussians would sell well. I would buy them so I could use them as Hessian and add them to my American Revoultion armies.

King's Man

How about something different like the Trojan War? Not aware that anyone else is doing it, lots of personality figures, historical/artistic context that JJ seems to like. The Iliad is possibly the greatest and most exciting account of war ever written. Just a thought.

I spoke to John a couple of days ago.

Next month release will include Virginia Militia.

No other details at this time.

The closest thing is the SPARTAN COLLECTION from Conte on the market now.

All,

Have a look at John's web site he has update it.

There are some new photo's of future releases under the workbench, Indians and QB series sections. I will see if Brad can load them onto the forum.

Two new Indians: first one an Indian attacking with tomahawk and the club with the round end (do not know the proper team for it, anyone know). The second I think has been on the web site for a while, Indian looks like a scout kneeling and looking at something.

Two new 47th Infantry figures: first one is a Sergent with hand out and the second is a wounded soldier standing who has been shoot.

Aussie Monty :)

Here are the photos: Wounded 47th prototype, 47th sergeant prototype, attacking indian prototype (2) and Indian scout.

I hope he releases those as single figures ! They look great - but, I am slowing down a bit due to the $70 a set is stacking up.

Ron,

I too agree with you. (Not again , the world will be ending shortly :D ). A number of single or double figure sets to break up the standard line and command figures to date would be good.

On the dollars side of thing, I counted my JJ sets yesterday both new and the old Frontline.  48 new and 12 old with another 14 new ones on there way.

No wonder I have not been able to buy any K&C in the last 3 months. There are just to many releases these days.

Aussie Monty :)

AM

I still have to catch up with what John has been coming out.....still havent bought my canoes and some indians. Certainly we are fighting a TWO FRONT WAR on JJ releases and K&C releases.

Someone call it artillery - please :D

Ron

Any word on when JJ will announce the new line?

Oh for Pete's Sake (no pun intended)

What's an obsessive complusive supposed to do

Get all the new JJ - Get all the new K&C - Get all the new HB - Get all the new NMA - Get all the new FOV

Which - ALL - Some -
