What would you like to see in the way of future production as regards JJD's pre-existing models?

Got me on this one, Moe. I'd love to see any and all of them done in further versions, with the possible exception of the Camel. All of them have large numbers of versions that could still be done. Some of the types just scream multiples, such as the Nieuport 17. Multiples could be done of the Lafayette Escadrille or Storks 3. The Spad is made for multiples in terms of USAS and French flyers, as it is the mount of all the big name aces in both services. The SE-5 is a no-brainer with 'B' Flight, 56 Squadron just a starting point. Someone has to do Boelcke's Eindecker! What about the Albatros and Jasta 5, the famous 'Green Tails'? The tripe is my favorite and there are many more of those that could be done and never exhaust the optiions. I would love to see a version of Paul Baumer's tripe done. Perhaps the Fokker D-7 is the most underserved here. So many possibilities, being the main battle plane of the Germans over the last several months of the war. Problem there is, as has been discussed many times, is the universal lozenge camo fabric that the D-7's were finished in. Without a practical solution to applying this finish to the D-7 model, the options are extremely limited, if not non-existent. I can't just pick one. Must have all. -- Al

I've never understood why Jenkins walked away from the S.E.5a. It's such a nice model. Given it's size, however, and somewhat more complex bracing scheme, perhaps it was simply a matter of production $$$.

I would definitely like to see a Guynemer model from the pre-existing SPAD XIII molds.

Finally, I'm going to be REALLY disappointed if JJ can't bring itself to release a Werner Voss triplane. IMO, that should have been one of the first DR.I to be released. Give us that one, John, and I'll never mention tripe production again.:)

Heartily agree, on all points. The SE-5 is, IMO, the best plane JJD has done. Guynemer is my favorite flyer, thus I would love one of his planes, be it a Spad or a Nieuport 17. Don't know what happened to the Guynemer Spad that JJD had ready to go into production. As to the Voss tripe, I have asked John for one on more than one occasion. Virtually the only real difference between the tripes that John has produced (the Dr1 series) and the prototype tripes of the type Voss flew (the F series) is that the F series had no wing-tip skids, so the hold-up must be something other than that. Perhaps it is an economic reason. The Voss tripe was camoflaged exactly like the Kempf tripe John did, so maybe the manhours required to hand-apply the streaking effect of the camo is a detriment to getting it done. From an accuracy point of view for the Voss tripe, one only has to decide whether the cowling and wheel discs were painted factory olive green or whether Voss had them painted Jasta 10 yellow. There is no historical consensus or proof to prove or disprove either choice so it's sort of a best guess pick 'em. I'd opt for the yellow but would be happy with either. -- Al
