His first task involves setting up a base camp with his archaeological supplies and provisions. A few "plastic palms" provide some needed shade from the hot desert sun:

While his adventure jeep provides an adequate means of transportation, he opts for his iconic Adventure Team 6 Wheeled ATV:

Discovering the tomb of the mummy, he makes his way inside to unlock its treasures:

As with all poorly scripted B-movies with a a sudden jump in scenes, Joe finds himself outside the pyramid with the ancient mummy's sarcophagus:

He uses the winch of his ATV and net to pull the mummy's sarcophagus out of the dirt grave:

Meanwhile, back in the tomb, an ancient curse awakens the mummy:

Dumping the 6-wheel ATV like a kid with too many Christmas presents, Joe loads his adventure jeep to return to civilization:

What's with the lucky gem that Joe carries from scene to scene?
Will Joe ever make it back to civilization?
What's to become of the 6-wheeled ATV?

These any many other questions remain to be answered in Part II of G.I. Joe Secret of the Mummy's Tomb, Curse of Anubis:

The 12 inch 1:6 scale G.I. Joe, 6 wheel ATV and mummy was my Christmas present when I was around 6 years old. You have brought back some great memories. Between G.I. Joe and the Johnny West collection, my Chrismases and birthdays were covered until I was around 8-9!:salute::

Me too, Louis. Sears and a local store called Grand Central had a whole aisle of Joe back in the day. The yellow ATV was among my favorite Christmas present ever!
Here's a piece I was able to find several years ago (a nostalgic remake of the old Adventure Team Joe):
